Unbox Your Device: Carefully remove your Trezor hardware wallet from its packaging. Verify that you have all the components: the Trezor device, a USB cable, and a user manual.
Connect to Computer: Use the USB cable provided to connect your Trezor device to your computer. Ensure that the connection is secure.
Navigate to the Official Website: Open your web browser and go to trezor.io/start. This is the official Trezor setup page.
Download Trezor Bridge: To interact with your Trezor device, you’ll need the Trezor Bridge software. Click on the download link for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and install it.
Begin Setup: Once the Trezor Bridge is installed, the Trezor Wallet interface will open automatically. Click “Get Started” to begin the setup process.
Choose Device Type: Select your Trezor model from the list (Trezor One or Trezor Model T).
Firmware Update: Your Trezor device might prompt you to update its firmware. Follow the on-screen instructions to ensure your device is running the latest version.
Generate New Wallet: Choose the option to create a new wallet. Your device will display a series of steps to generate a secure recovery seed.
Write Down Recovery Seed: You will receive a 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed. Write these words down on the provided recovery card or a secure piece of paper. Store this in a safe place, as it’s crucial for recovering your wallet if needed.
Create a PIN: Set a PIN for your Trezor device. This PIN is used to access your wallet and confirm transactions. Make sure to choose a unique and secure PIN.
Confirm PIN: Re-enter your PIN to confirm it.
Access Your Wallet: Once your PIN is set, you can access your Trezor Wallet. Follow the instructions to configure additional settings and connect your wallet to your cryptocurrency accounts.
Secure Your Device: Ensure your Trezor device is kept in a secure location. Do not share your recovery seed or PIN with anyone.
